_Radio_Update - Reckoner Remix Competition
posted @ 11:58 am in [ _FREE! - _Radio_update - _electronica - _heads up - _mp3 - _remix ]
Following the sucess of the ‘Nude’ remix contest, Radiohead have decided to cash in follow on with ‘Reckoner’. You can buy the stems from iTunes at 99c a pop. (There’s usually 5 stems per track). Pay what you’d like for the album. Heck, get it for free. Then wait a few months. And charge 5 bucks for the same track. So many people buy it it gets on the iTune charts! And then toss a few grand at a ‘winner’, even though you’ve asked Diplo, James Holden and Modeselektor to remix for you.

I know I’ve used Kanye’s image in vain in the past, but at least he’s giving the ‘Love Lockdown’ stems away for free on his blog. No word of a prize or competition, but did you really think you’d do a better remix than James Holden?

Radio_Update - Latest Webcast
posted @ 12:25 pm in [ _Radio_update - _vids ]

Radiohead can, it seems, do no wrong. Not content with being considered rock gods and all round good guys for donating an extra £30,000 from their own pocket for the recent video competition, they’ve decided to webcast their entire last perfromance in their North American Tour. And it’s a doozey. Here’s what they had to say:
Hello! To celebrate the end of a brilliant tour, we’re going to webcast the last show here in America. We’ll be playing live in Santa Barbara, at the Bowl. It’s one of our favourite places to play; I think we’ve ended tours there before, once even playing a cover of [Neil Young's] ‘ cinnamon girl ‘. It’s not too big, in fact it’s very intimate, a small arena with a dirt floor, set in pretty countryside. It should be a special night, for lots of reasons, and we’re going to try and share as much of it as we can on the webcast. Nigel [Godrich], our producer, will be helping out getting it to you, so if it goes wrong….It’s live!
Thank you so much to everyone who’s come and seen us this year; it has truly been the most special and exciting tour for all of us.
Webcast details to follow…

_Radio_update - While I’ve been away…
posted @ 2:28 pm in [ _Radio_update - _heads up - _mp3 ]

So I’ve dropped off the radar a little during March for whatever reason, (Answers on a postcard to: ) but Radiohead certainly haven’t. Didn’t they care my parents travelled 17 thousand km to see me? Evidently not. Is a matter of fact they waited ’til my attention was elsewhere to become busy little oxford beavers.
They played a concert to 312 competition winners broadcast on BBC2. You can get the mp3’s here.
They announced a remix competition for ‘Nude‘. The individual ’stems’ are available on iTunes now for 99c a pop.
They announced a video competition two days after trent announced his. But theirs is worth $10k!
They announced a social networking site - I kid (a) you not. Check it out!
