_Friday_hands_in_the_air! Just ’cause…..
Here at triplejaysus we LOVE a good theme. Jeez, we’d hang 60 minutes of music on almost any theme you could think of. ‘I’m happy to be alive because I’m on a secret mission’ for example. (Remember that one?)
But sometimes you have to just say ‘Phuque it, lets just go’. So here are some ‘hands in the air’ tunes, just cause….
Enjoy!

Turns out that if you burn the candle at both ends two nights in a row, and two school nights at that, you end up with the mother of all hangovers, with little baby hangovers snapping at your heels.
And if said candle was burned at ‘the Establishment’, or to give it it’s more accurate name ‘the slut-rush’, you’ll wake with not only a headache, but a rather unpleasant taste in your mouth. Like you lost a little bit of yourself sometime after 3am. Sounds a little like this:

Monster Magnet - Space Lord (Boys Noize Remix)
I recently rediscovered Monster Magnet’s classic album ‘God Says No’ and I can’t stop listening to it. It’s just so over the top rock that you simply have to love it. Unashamed cock rock. That lead me to unearth this remix of ‘Space Lord’ taken from their 1998 album ‘Powertrip’.
I should warn you that the track below has gratuitous use of the MF word - more so that Ice Cube on ‘Death Certificate’

Thought I’d share…..

I may have mentioned (in every post of late) that I was a little distracted in March. Well, truth be told I did tinker around sonically and put together a mix for a friends house warming party.
The aim was to make a party mix that indie kids would like. I reckon that it’s a little dark, but I’ve had some positive feed back from it so I thought I’d share it.
Be warned, ‘Triplejaysus mix for Susie’ is in the region of 85 MB, running about 90 minutes long. If your bandwidth can spare it, I’d love to know what you think. G

Of Montreal - The Past is a Grotesque Animal
I just love this track. I probably listen to it at least once a day at the moment, usually on the walk from the ferry to work. 11m 53s gets me to my desk at a nice pace.
The reason that it’s a _mood_indicator is the relentless build up of tension through out the track. It starts out with a swirling synth, a couple of guitar squeals and a thumping bassline to set the tone. Then a simple guitar riff kicks in. This simmers for a minute or two before you get caught up in the narrative. World weary and caustic (there’s a bit of that going around) lyrics propel you forward.
Then the mousey girl screams violence. And the track that you thought couldn’t be wound any tighter, be put under any more stress gets turned up another notch. Such beautifully timed backing vocals increase your sense of unease, unease you feel for the protagonist. You identify with his angst, you’re right there with him except you’re not sure how you got there.
But there is hope. Dyer know, no matter where we are, we’re touching by underground wires?
