Dazzling Dolly
Dolly Parton - Stairway To Heaven

(alt lyrics)
If there’s a bustle in your hedgerow,
don’t be alarmed now…
It’s just the hundreds of people
sifting through the root folder of Triplejaysus
and downloading tracks that haven’t been posted!

So, here it is folks - knock yourself out!

_Radio_update - Amplive’s remixes survive!

AMP_LIVE’s  Hip Hop remix album survives!

As previously reported Amplive remixed InRainbows days after the release of the album. The remix project was a hip hop album, not unlike The Kleptones  album ‘Yoshimi battles the hip hop robots’. W.A.S.T.E  then issued Amplive with a C & D order. Amplive then hit YouTube to plead to Thom personally to have the album released. And it worked! You can get it here.

Even the coldest ice melts occasionally

Tom Waits - coolest man alive

Happy Hallmark Day folks.

I had though about posting a classic like ‘He hit me (and it felt like a kiss)’ , but decided that I’d share one of the most beautiful songs ever written. Even if you don’t like Tom Waits ( get out of my house. NOW) you’d be one cold cold bastid not to melt a little when Tom sings:

“The face forgives the mirror,
the worm forgives the plough,
the question begs the answer,
can you forgive me somehow.

Now…Anyone fancy a friendly wrestle?
G

Hot Chip - Made in the dark

I think I may have mentioned in earlier posts, that I’m as ‘Hurrah for me!’ as the next podcast making music reviewing blog writing pretender. Who isn’t? I hear you ask. And what’s this got to do with Hot Chip? I’m glad I assumed you’d ask me that question.

Following a line of questioning from a friend, I have to admit that I tend to avoid popular music. It’s just so accessable, so obvious. Much like the pattern of a table cloth, once you recognise it’s the same thing repeated you stop looking. I stop listening.

And that’s why i like Hot Chip. They’re almost HUGE. ‘Made in the dark’ is a great album, but it has flaws. And I celebrate that. The fact that it is an album about love, thinly disguised as pop songs makes it even better. Music should reward repeated listens, repay attention to detail. ‘Made in the dark’ does that, but nudges Hot Chip one step closer to being a British Timbaland. And if / when they have Rhianna as guest vocalist, you’re all invited to join my “I prefered them before they wrote for the radio” club.

THINK: Geeky white guys play r’n'b without gettin their freak on.
